 إليك عزيزي الطالب قائمة بالأفعال مع حروف العطف الاكثر استعمالا في اللغة الانجليزية

تكمن أهمية أدوات العطف في أنها تربط الجمل أو الأسماء فيما بينها
 أدوات العطف في اللغة الإنجليزية كثيرة ومنها :
because
المعنى : لأن
يجيب على السؤال:"لماذا"
مثال :
we went home because we were tired.

but
المعنى : لكن
يستعمل عرف العطف but لتقديم كلام يناقض أو يتباين مع ما سبق أن قلته
مثال :
they are rich but they are not happy

so
المعنى : "هكذا, وبالتالي"
 يخبرك عن نتيجة فعل ما
مثال:
 we went home early, so we missed the end of the concert

when
المعنى : " حينما,عندما"
 يجيب على السؤال: "متى"
مثال:
 call me when you have finished

before, after
المعنى :" قبل, بعد"
 يجيب على السؤال: " ما الذي حدث أولا؟"
مثال:
 we went home before the concert ended
We went home after the concert ended

although, though
المعنى : " رغم أن, برغم أن"
 يستعمل حرفا العطف هذان للإخبار بشيء مفاجئ.
مثال :
we went home although/though we did not really want to

 if
المعنى :"إن (الشرطية),إذا"
 يستعمل حرف العطف if في حالة الشرط
مثال :
we will go home if we are tired
